Park position with DCT Shifter

Hi, I will hopefully be taking possession of a V8 and 8HP converted RX8 very soon. The car currently has a BMW shifter and paddles, however I am considering replacing the BMW shifter with a DCT shifter.
For those with a DCT shifter what do you use to select Park on the gearbox? I was assuming it requires an additional push button but interested to hear how others have achieved this.
Thanks
Richard

Stock dct cars dont have parking function.
When you using dct shifter with 8hp Turbo Lamik then TCU add P function when you gady double click N position

Thanks for the reply Jar.
I am considering an aftermarket DCT shifter which is just a straight up/down shift not a BMW DCT shifter.

the gearUP/gearDOWN selector you are talking about does not have the option of activating parking by itself. You can set one of the programs, e.g. P8, to activate N when the wheels are turning and O when the car stops. Or add a P button

Thanks Jar, I will hopefully have the car in the next couple of weeks so will do some testing, if I can set one of the program positions to put the gearbox in park that would be simple.

For do this, go to "Program Selector" map and set 3 in Time UP on P8. This enable P/N or p8 program.

Thanks.
I assume I could make this change to try it before even changing the shifter.

This doesn't seem to work on my car. The light on the shifter changes, but the gearbox is still in neutral as the car rolls down my driveway.

You probably have the emergency parking lot release screw screwed in, it's located under the gearbox. you have to unscrew it...

Nope, it's unscrewed, the car goes into park when I turn the engine off, but not when I double tap the lever into neutral.
