Gen 5 Camaro Paddle Shifters

Post by filcu »

Hi!

I have Gen 5 Camaro with the whole system already installed, it was converted from manual. The DCT shifter works great.
Lately I got the steering wheel with paddle shifters. I noticed the connector in the steering column doesn't have cable to transmit the paddles signal from the wheel.. But adding the cable is not the problem.
Issue i have - both paddles have only one cable out, and the signal is resistor based, how to connect it to the TCU?

Best, thx.

Just to be clear you said 1 cable out. So do you mean the output is at 2.5v when paddels off and right paddle goes to 0v and the left paddel goes to 5v? What is the output stat when both paddels are pulled at the same time?
OR is it off until pulled up?

For a resistor paddle type a MUX input can be used. There are a few types of paddle setups that can be either 2 wire or 1 wire. The 2 wire usually take a 5v and the output goes to the MUX input. You can use the 1 wire if the resistors are tied to ground and an analog input that has an internal pullup is used for the MUX input.
