Hi I have couple questions and problems with tcu.

Car: E46 Coupe
Engine: M54B30 231KM 300NM
Differential: 3.38 LSD

My changes:
There was a post from polish section when somebody had simillar problmes so I decided to increase starting and ending pressure on gear 1/2, there was no difference.

Problems
1. When gearbox is reducing gear 4->3 and 3->2, there is huge pulling back feeling and after oil temperature reaches 50c+ when slowing down car is getting 'kick in the back' while 4->3 is minor, 3->2 is HUGE its almost like cluch kick in manual.
2. Gear changes near redline are super aggresive. It feels like gearbox is pulling back torque and then after gear up giving back more, that way car can lose traction even while going over 100+kmph. I only felt how stock 5hp and 6hp changes up gears and its not doing as agresive. It is because faster shifts than stock control unit?
3. The last thing that I have noticed is in TCU differencial ratio is 2.6 or 2.9 while im having 3.38, does it matter? Is this option used or tcu is using calculated via learning or somthing like that?
Questions
4. What happend to polish forum section?
5. Blips for downshift's?

Here are some log files and soft ziped.

File '06_problems_2_3_kick' logs problems with kick in the back. Especially look at the last part of the log.

Following this, because i have similar problems.
Same engine, 8hp70
When gearbox temp >50 degrees, downshifts , specially 8-7 4-3 3-2 feels like wheels are blocking for a short moment.
upshifts are OK, but same as you, full throttle, red line, then they are much to hard.

Would be nice to have a guideline to fine tuning the gearbox.

Update the soft to the one I put here then upload the corrected configuration.

After uploading this file, you should perform the adaptation from scratch

If that did not help, please write to VIBER +48 502 726 105. We will help you configure.

Feedback.
I had problems to update software, ended up changing usb cable. Then it went smoothly from there.
After adaptation 15-20, 2 to 8 sequences everything works fine. The new software also changed gear reduction time in manual, and downshifts on auto when 100% on throttle.
Overall there is no kick in the back on 2/3 gear reduction. Tomorrow I will check how it changes gears when oil is cold, and come back with an update.

Than you very much. Im amazed! :)

Today I have tested on cold oil and had only one little kick while stopping when oil was at 8c. Later everything worked great :)

I can confirm that. The new firmeware / tables are great , overall improvements, downshift speed, smoothness, Keep going .

:D this is great I'm doing the same project and can't wait to get going did the 8hp70 make a big difference to how the e46 drives ? also what flex plate and starter did you need to use

Compered to 5hp upshifts are much faster, downshifts are more aggressive and sometimes slower. Sadly, kickdown isn't working so I’m using often paddles from SMG and it works nice.

About the parts you asked and other:
- flex plate from f10 N57.
- starter stock e46, you must drill out thread.
- driveshaft I got f10 N57, measured everything on the car then went to machine shop to 'merge' my stock driveshaft with f10 one.
- gear selector I recommend to f10 normal non-m because it looks kind of OEM for e46. To cover the hole, I have used OEM manual e46 shift boot.
- the only part to made fully custom is the gearbox mount and I would not recommend getting gearbox from f10 but rather from f30 due to different gearbox mounts, it could possibly make manufacturing e46 mounts easier.
- there is one thing that doesn’t work currently, and it is cruise control that’s due to fact that stock ECU doesn't know anything over 5 gear and won't allow you to engage.

For me some of these problems will disappear due to planning for turbo forged m54 with EMU black, if you have similar plans then I can recommend it to you.

Is your cruise control works till 5th gear?
