TCU TurboLamik

I cannot seem to get live data on my TCU, I think this is because I am having to use ADX/ADF version 10.73 despite my TCU running 10.72.
When downloading this, XDF_ADX 10.72.zip, I get an error opening it stating that it's an invalid file, I had a friend extract the files and then send me them ...

Without the Turbolamik LCD display, how do you view error codes?
I have tried looking in TunerRT but I am not familiar with this software.

context: gearbox is stuck in 6th gear (limp-home mode)
