Hello,
I did the 8hp swap on a BMW E39 turbo which uses MS41(throttle cable) and Map sensor(internal calc). The set up works great but need some fine tuning.
What should I adjust for these issues below?
#1 - There is a slight kick from 3-2 and a bigger kick from 2-1 when coming to a stop. Is there a setting to let it slip longer on there downshifts?
#2 - When cold 1-2 there is a harsh fast shift, when warm is less harsh but would like to slow down the upshift.
Also on map knob map3 is manual and map4,5,6 is the same as but speeds up up/downshifts and gear change(paddle/shifter) engagement speed. What are the tables that affect this?
Sorry for the noob questions. I adjusted the calc/torque table for my torque curve/boost and been running fine with only these issues above.
Thank you.
Downshift Gear Slip Adjustment
Re: Downshift Gear Slip Adjustment
Do you have clutch slipt enabled?
What is your idle rpm?
What gear did you set for your start gear and are you letting it shift automaticly or manual.
Are you in P1 when testing this? Any other mode will produce a much more firm shift - unless you changed the shift times.
My first assumtion is your either setting your internal tq table to hi (in your decell idle areas) or your idle is higher than clutch slipt min rpm is set to. Or both
A second possible issue Is your running a 10.74 base file with 10.73 firmware or older. Make sure your base file version matches the firmware version your using. In tunerpro with live data active look in bottom left at the version number. Compare that to your base file version found in ECU Info -> SW ID
