Adaptation

Post by Nmr_fabrication »

Starting to become a daily topic starter

Almost done with the setup but 2 things left.
Starting to understand this program.

-Adaptation.

I have found the Adaptation dashboard to check if the Adaptation has been done right. (Picture)
In the turbolamik video he talks about setting the lockup switch to "on". Where do i find this.

2nd question. Maybe this is good when i do the calibration, but when i put in in drive/manual the gearbox allready wants to drive a bit, and i must keep my foot on the brakes. Is there a way to set engagement to a higher rpm or so?

This could be a very easy question. I have found some things that will maybe solve this problem but im scared to mess up everything with the wrong settings.
Im going to drive it tomorrow on the offroad track and want it to be good.

Thanks.

The torque table plays a role here. If this table is not setup you'll have multiple issue with shifting and decel. Also I find all of the oem torque convertors are too tight if your engine makes any kind of power it will pull. Your only option is enable Clutch Slipt Strategy.

Transmission Cal -> Clutch Slipt Strategy -> Enable slipt all the time = checked
Transmission Cal -> Clutch Slipt Strategy -> Enable slipt strategy = checked

Set Minimum Idle RPM = to 150rpm ABOVE your idle rpm when engine is at temp.

Minimum Clutch Pres. Drive = to a value like 14 or 18 that just makes the car pull slightly allowing to slip the brake and move the truck.

Add Pres. Footbrake OFF = to a value that will cause the trans to pull a bit more but not drag the motor down or jerk. This value is added to "Minimum Clutch Pres. Drive" when the brake is released.

But all of this is useless if the Cal: Pres/ Torque table is not set correct. You need to data log each drive and look at your slip value. Try looking up Zero to 60 on you tube and watch the two videos he has about tq table and slipt.

I should add, the torque convertor lockup tables need to be adjusted. The trucks I build crawl better when the lockup is not on IMO.

Have at a look at the lockup info in the manual

I setup my program modes 1-8 to reflect what I'm doing. Like 1 is normal driving with lockup where 4 is no lockup and fastest shift times. With 6-8 being manual only
