Gear slip

Post by JACKDYNAMIC01 »

Transmission swap has been going great…… until it’s not.

Transmission has been shitfting well and was starting to get happy with my tuning. However it’s now slipping, particularly bad is 6th and 7th gear.

Have I damaged a clutch/ clutches or has something simpler happened.

1hdft - 300hp 700nm at tires
8hp 70x from a BMW X5

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

So assuming you haven't been letting it slip for long durations during the 'slip'.
Also assuming you have not added the wrong filter/pan (there are a few floating around that don't work - filter spacing issues).
Also assuming you have the oil level correct.

The torque table may be your issue, if your lite load areas are to 'low' you may not have enough line pressure to hold it.

Only way to truly know is to drop the oil and see if it's burnt and/or check for material in the pan.
