Idling in park, stalling, downshifts, CAN Torque

Hello, i need some help as I think I must have overlooked something somewhere. Car is a 2001 Aristo/GS300 JZS160 running 2jzgte with 8hp from N63. EMU Black. DBW. 1000 rpm idle speed. Engine is 476hp and 407tq. When shifting from Park to reverse or drive, the engine will almost stall. When coming to a stop after driving the same issue occurs, 8-3 downshifts are fairly smooth, 3-2 isnt great either. I set up the Lamik by following the manual. Downloaded EMU files and loaded into EMU. Set up CAN signals per instructions in Lamik and TPS, MAP, RPM etc signals are all present in Lamik data, however it does not show CAN torque in the CAN TQ dashboard. Set up base torque tables before running adaptations. Upshifts are great. Smooth in P1 and get firmer with other modes.

When shifting from P to D 3 clutched climb to 250. Lockup slipt climbs and then falls back to 0 and the car is at idle, and acts like I am powerbraking/doing a burnout. I enabled slip strategy and the first shift from P it seems as if it is starting to work, slipt gear clutch guage goes to 100 and then drops back to 0 and the problem persists. I double checked againt lockup config in manual and matched the settings show. I tried to adjust many parameters such as various MIN RPM settings, lockup rpm, lockup rpm/tps, varying the base torque settings and nothing seems to help. When shifting to reverse it seems to start to use the slipt strategy but then bogs down again at idle, takes longer than when in drive however. Also tried LOCKUP ON RPM settings currently set at 1200 rpm. Idle set at 1000 RPM. Tried changing ADD RPM MIN RPM LIMIT FT BRAKE ON settings, base map was 100, changed values up to 500 with no good results.

Im sure I am missing some settings or the right combination of settings, but I am unsure where to look. I even went down setting by setting and changed anything I thought would help but it did not, so i changed it back. Any help is appreciated, and the bin file is attached.

Just some things I see in your attached image: You have Start Gear set to 2nd and end Gear set to 1. But Min RPM Limit 2-1 set to 100. Then in P3 you have it at 800rpm, I’m not sure if this is intended but it’s not helping you during Auto.


Hit Ctrl-F and Find Disable Engine RPM & Disable Gearbox Oil Temp. What do you have entered in these two tables?

Do you have ‘Enable slipt all the time’ enabled?
Do you have ‘Enable slipt strategy’ OR ‘Enable semi slipt strategy’ enabled?

Go into the Program Selector table and set 'LOCK' to 0 for a moment and work on your take off and up/down shifts 1-3. I'm assuming you've made changes and will need to come back to review the lockup settings.

Start the engine and let it idle and note the engine vacuum and the desired rpm point.

In your TQ table you need to set the TQ to about 25ish to slightly higher, maybe 30 for heavier cars.
Next create a datalog in TunerPro and review the engine braking - your TQ needs to decrease during engine braking.

Another possible issue is you have your Automatic gear change DOWN TPS% & Automatic gear change UP TPS% set wrong and it’s not down shifting at the correct RPM. If your TPS is not at zero in the lamik you’ll have issues. The 2-1 and 3-2 tables appear to need updated with realistic values that match your engine idle.

Unfortunately there is not much I can say without a file but the correct order of operations here would be -
1. Make sure your TPS shows 0.0% when you're not on the throttle and Map, Brake, and RPM are correct in TunerPRo
2. Adjust the TQ table.
3. Then get very familiar with the 'Selektor /Gear Swap maps'. Search some of my other posts - I go into detail on settings here.
4.The tables in 'RPM Limit' and how the Shift tables work. Look up the manual on the lamik site and note the tables how they connect via Selektor/Gear swap tables.
5. Then setup the lockup RPM tables.


Also note if you're launching the car the Lockup tables turn on almost immediately in the default maps sooo… unless you want a rattle in the torque converter don’t launch on lockup lol.
