Using TCU with Audi 8HP55

The Audi version of the 8HP is a Quatro configuration with a front transaxle incorporated in the box and a rear drive shaft and rear mounted diff.

My questions are:
1/ Can this box be converted to front drive only (rear drive shaft disabled/removed)?
2/ Will the Turbo Lamik TCU be able to control this transmission?

Im wanting to mount this 8HP in a mid engined project behind a Jag V12.

you can lock the center diff in gearbox and then drive to the front.

TCU will work.
