Code error 17 changes to 21

Hi All

So this error is No Rpm signal gearbox sensor 1......any idea on what the issue can be?

It could be anything between the sensor and the TCU. Has it ever worked and this has now developed or is this the first time trying to get a new project l moving?

Could be sensor itself broken (unlikely), sensor not in correct position after removal of mechatronics, wiring from sensor to factory TCU enclosure (also unlikely), wiring where OEM factory tcu was deleted (wiring could be incorrect or a short to ground; a common issue due to bad soldering - test for continuity to ground on sensor wires), wiring from 8hp plug to TCU, possibly bad connection on TCU pin (I would check this first).

Thanks for that information.....the car has been driving for 2 months now the error just came up today and just went away by itself after I checked now ...everything seems to be working fine again now

Hi ....the error just came back now TCU pins and pins on plug looks all good although the transmission plug feels a bit loose , I used a pc board solder setup

check everything. TCU pin, gearbox pin, even if it looks good, replace it prophylactically.

If nothing helps, maybe the wire you soldered inside the gearbox fell off

I have checked all plugs and pins and removed the megatronic it was sealed and all potting in place on the pcb ...there is no errors when put ignition on only when I engage Drive and the wheels start moving then the error occurs

Hmm, if it only occurs once the sensor starts reading movement then i would suspect a sensor fault. Are you abel to put an osciliscope oin the signal and view the waveform? Probably best contacting Lamik direct with this one...

All of a sudden after removing the megatronic checking all solder joints for continuity(which there is) l plug in to check and now the code changes to 21, this is now getting interesting lol

99% of problems are caused by bad soldering inside the gearbox.
