Hello to you. my car is an unusual project. bmw x5 e53 m54b30 turbo with zf8hp70 gearbox
I drive this car every day so I'm most interested in the automatic transmission mode.
The car runs on 10psi boost and is tuned to ms43.
I would like to ask when the kickdown option will be available but for it to work as in the serial gearbox - that it reduces the gears instantly?
My next question - should I set the TCU options to send can information to the car's controller? does it make any sense and will it somehow affect the work on the box or the car?
and do you have any proven settings to make driving in automatic mode on a daily basis even more pleasant? I experience jerks and pulls when stopping the car and when the car downshifts to 3rd and 2nd gear. can this be remedied?
my transmission has 20,000 miles
Request for configurations for ms43 and kickdown
Re: Request for configurations for ms43 and kickdown
The kick down option is already there, maybe you need to enable it.
TCU shifts to more aggressive maps when kickdown is activated and changes gears faster.
Cascading changes are not available yet because we are testing this solution

Have you updated the TCU to the latest version?Bkolek wrote: 26 Apr 2023, 01:26 and do you have any proven settings to make driving in automatic mode on a daily basis even more pleasant? Re: Request for configurations for ms43 and kickdown
After the update I noticed better shifting and certainly much faster downshifts.
but it bothers me that in automode the car changes "harder, more aggressive gears".
I would like to ask what settings to change to make the gearbox in P1 automatic mode very smooth and fasten the gears more gently. because I often feel a strong shift from 2 ->3
I would like the car on p1 to behave as close as possible to the serial one - maybe even slower, but much more comfortable - for everyday driving. what settings should i be interested in?

Re: Request for configurations for ms43 and kickdown
after updating to the .71 firmware, I have the impression that the gearbox thinks longer after pressing D or R.
and it's better when braking to zero, reaching the traffic lights because I felt kicks in the back as the box was reducing at the time of stopping. It's much better but I still feel it.
I have a short rear axle 4.10 maybe there are gearbox settings that will make driving in automatic mode more pleasant for me?
can i change the lockup somehow?
