GCU to TCU migration

Post by TommyK »

Hello,
I suggest gathering here some important information for people trying to install TCU after experiances with HTG.

Let start with mixed wiring. This is important when You decide to change unit without touching mechatronics.

Hi,

Thanks for this post.
I'm coming from HTG, your wiring corresponds to my researches and measurings.

One question remains, is about plug 77 on TCU (solenoid out 10 ) , connection not possible when coming from HTG, is it not mandatory ??
What is it for ? electric oil pump ? ?

Thanks

Hello. We have already developed a connection diagram for htg mechatronics. I will post it on Monday when I have access to documentation at work.

It is not an electric oil pump, It is a hydroaccumulator used in the Start and Stop system and it is not necessary to connect it

Important, the TCU does not use external resistors on the Speed Sensor 1.2 inputs.
Oil temperature also without resistors.

Obviously without the park feedback signal like in the GCU we have to rely that the valve was shut when commanded by the TCU.

Parking lock feedback would be nice, even if it was wired to a device other than the TCU.

Is it just a matter of taking the signal from GB Pin #3 to either a TCU aux input or a spare input on my ecu to read the parking brake state?

Is there a way around the external resistors in the htg board?
I'm at a point now where I have errors 20,21,31 which is those 3 inputs and I'm assuming that the resistors are causing the error?

you need to remove the resistors.
