E90 paddle shifters

I found a number of different posts, but none that seem to solve my issues. I have an 07 E90 which was either equipped from BMW with paddle shifters (335Xi M Sport) or quite possibly a Dinan aftermarket option as the car was a Dinan tuned vehicle and had a number of other interior upgrades that were not BMW OEM.

My understanding is the paddle shifters should have worked with the default map with the Turbolamik when using the Turbolamik E9x 6HP to 8HP harness? When I installed the F3x electronic shift lever, the two stock plugs that went to the old shifters lever were left disconnected. What am I missing to make the paddles work with the Turbolamik?
