F Series DCT Selector question

You added the support for the DCT , just one question. Are the letters light up on the shifter?

Yes all letters display
in tcu the selector FXX is set and tcu itself detects DCT or 8HP automatically

Is it possible to send CAN to shifter to turn on orange backlight, like in photo?

Yes, but I have not found what frame is responsible for this

Message is sent after light on and you need connect can2 to selector. I can actuate light with diagnostic tool.

Credit to a couple of guys on the Facebook group chat for the idea. I’ve modified the shifter internally to use a spare connector pin (pin 9) and jumped this via a 1k resistor to the brown wire (next tot the black wire) on the bundle leading from the pcb up to the shifter joystick. Wired pin 9 into +12v dashboard illumination which the orange backlight now follows.

does tcu support aftermarket electronic shifter?

im coming here from htg after their tcu was not the greatest but i would like to use the electronic sequential style shifter i have from them since i cant return it.
since it doesnt have the ability to slide left to engage sport mode, can i just wire it to a switch and manually turn it off and on? thank you!

You can connect. You will switch between manual and automatic modes with the program switch
